TSITE Officer Election – Reminder to Vote

Voting for the 2017 TSITE Officer Election ends Monday, July 24, 2017.  Votes will be tallied and the elected 2018 TSITE Officers will be announced at the Summer Meeting.

In addition to the officer election, this year’s ballot also includes an amendment to the TSITE Bylaws. Information about the bylaws amendment is on the ballot.

City of Maryville hiring Traffic Operations Manager

The City of Maryville is accepting applications for a full-time Traffic Operations Manager.  This is skilled technical work managing the operations of the traffic control infrastructures for the cities of Maryville and Alcoa, directing maintenance and repairs, and analyzing and maintaining traffic related data.  A complete job description is on our website.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with coursework in civil engineering, or related field and considerable experience in traffic engineering, traffic operations, including some supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  International Municipal Signal Association Level I certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

Hiring range: $50,855 – $53,430 DOE.  The City of Maryville offers an excellent employee benefit package.  Nepotism policy prohibits hiring relatives of City employees.  Applications are available on our website and in the City of Maryville Human Resources Department, 400 W. Broadway Ave.

2017 Traffic Bowl Winners

Congratulations to the University of Tennessee for winning this year’s traffic bowl at the winter meeting in Cookeville. It was a great competition with four schools represented: the University of Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis. UT Knoxville will represent TSITE at the Southern District (SDITE) 2017 Annual Meeting on March 26-29, 2017 in Columbia, South Carolina.

TSITE Tri-Cities branch meeting March 21st

Jason Carder is creating a Tri-Cities “branch” of TSITE.  The first scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at noon at Beef O’Brady’s in Johnson City. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Jason Carder by Friday, March 17th.

Parking Info: Meeting attendees must park in one of the purple zones shown on the Campus Map and display the temporary Parking Permit on their dashboard. Drivers failing to do so may receive a parking ticket. Meeting attendees can then ride the shuttle to the Roaden University Center (RUC) or walk to the RUC (about a 10-minute walk).
